How do I choose my EIDER ski jacket?

From the comforting warmth of your home to the majestic peaks of the mountains, your ski jacket will remain your precious ally. Choosing the right jacket is of crucial importance and directly influences the quality of your experience on the snowy slopes.

The choice of your jacket must align perfectly with your skiing style. Whether you prefer to take on the slopes with fearlessness or enjoy après-ski moments in peace and quiet, choosing a product that matches your skiing approach is essential for a successful winter season. EIDER jackets, whether Eclipse, Saulire or Loze, are meticulously designed to meet the specific requirements of different skiing practices.

Eider features that make a difference:

Insulation

Insulation is essential in order for your jacket to maintain the warmth you need. The various materials and membranes used have a direct impact on the jacket's performance in terms of waterproofing and breathability. This insulation plays an essential role in preserving warmth while limiting the entry of water and wind. At EIDER, our Primaloft® ski jackets guarantee high-performance insulation while also remaining warm.

Waterproofness

The key to waterproofness lies in the jacket's ability to repel water. The waterproofness of your garment is closely linked to the quality of its outer membranes and the fabrics used. The Schmerber unit of measurement is used to quantify the waterproofness of a garment. Below 8,000 mm Schmerber, waterproofness is considered average. Above 10,000 mm Schmerber, waterproofness is considered good. Above 20,000 mm Schmerber, waterproofness is considered excellent. At EIDER, the use of high-quality membranes such as Gore-Tex® or DEFENDER® with a minimum of 10,000 mm Schmerber guarantees optimum protection.

Breathability

The breathability of a ski jacket is defined by its ability to evacuate the moisture generated during exercise. The higher it is (above 10,000 MVTR), the better the garment's ability to evacuate perspiration. Choose a breathable jacket that matches your intensity and style of skiing. For high intensity, choose a jacket with high breathability.
